Ivan Boyko – Code Portfolio

I am a graduating Game Programming Student and Humber College and in my spare time, the owner/operator of RNGEternal, which hosts this webpage. Presently I am focusing all my efforts on developing MECC in a group of 4, a game built off of the Blue Flame Engine that we also developed. Samples of my previous projects can be found below.

MECC/Blue Flame Engine (C++)

Capstone project with Juan Toro, Lucas Kanabe, and Miguel Favero. I focused on input, audio, networking, and AI. The game received third place in the Technical Award category at Level Up 2018.

6 Degrees/Casual Critters

Contract project with Wilfrid Laurier University and the Ontario Ministry of the Environment. Developed two similar games as part of a research study to determine how easily attitudes and behaviors towards the fragile environment could be changed through video games.

Game created for Global Game Jam 2018 with the theme of (disease) transmission. Built as part of a three person team of coders using free unity assets. After the event, ported to both android devices and browser.

Disappointing Your Dad (Unity)

Game created for TOJam 2017 as part of a three person team. The theme of the game jam was “disappointment”. Designed to be turn based RPG game with an unbeatable final boss, where you level yourself up but cannot defeat the boss, so you try again to reach a higher level. Secret boss if you idle at the opening area.

Game created for Global Game Jam 2017 as part of a six person team. The theme of the game jam was “Waves”. Basic platformer with wave addition mechanics. I coded the controls and mechanics.

My first ever game jam game, created for Global Game Jam 2016 as part of a 3 person team – one programmer, one tester, and one “artist”. The theme of the game jam was “Rituals” and our game calls back to rain dances and similar rituals.
