Meet the Teams of ETS Team League Season Two!

Season Two of the ETS Team League features sixteen teams, more than double the amount that participated in Season One. In order to keep the season a reasonable length, Teams have been split up into two Pods, A and B. Teams will only play other teams in their Pod during the regular season. Pods were not split based on perceived strength, but rather by preferred time slot and to ensure sister teams did not face each other (to avoid any potential problems).

From the big names to the newcomers, there’s a lot of variety to be had. Longstanding testing teams Elder Titans and Seek Power Gaming both registered two squads, and last season’s newcomers EternalWarcry grew enough to host two teams as well. Newcomer squad EternalBrazil’s two teams feature many names new to us, but well known in the Brazilian scene, which has been hosting their own tournaments for some time now.

One of the orignal superteams, in Season One, ET’s Team Titans came in 5th place, putting them outside of the playoffs. finkel and david return to make a better showing this go round, and to that end they’ve added two longtime players in Jaffa and Grimfan and a Top 6 Worlds player in Mouche. While they’re some of the earliest Eternal veterans, three of them are light on actual ETS experience. They’ll need to buckle down and grind it out if they’re going to bring the trophy ET Home.

Mostly unknown aside from their captain, Worlds attendee LoveUP, the four other players have no ETS matches between them. However, EternalBrazil runs a number of in-house leagues and tournaments for Brazilian players, and so all four are likely to have wet their feet in that arena. They now must prove themselves on the international stage – can LoveUP turn Verde into Victory?

The unknown team moving into Season One, EWC was a collection of part time players and new faces. They surprised the established teams with a 3rd place finish, and seeking to repeat the feat, they expanded to two teams to double the odds. EWC vetrans overmaster and Clarity return, and they’ve recruited ETS regulars Hulkbuster and Marius and unknown Jibbetz to help them bring the trophy back to Justice.

For those not in the know, Urska is the name of the bear Kosul Brigade summons. Team Captian Bassoonbuffoon used to be on a smaller team with SPG Revenge members Swann and serb. That team has since been dissolved, and he’s now got a new team to take down his former teammates. Bassoonbuffoon and SolventSoup are the only players on this team with ETS experience, so they’ll have to work together to avoid their season turning into Bad News.

One of the new teams of total unknowns, Team League will be the debut for all of these players. I can do little but speculate at this point, but I will mention say they like big decks, not good decks.

OND are one of the original superteams, and as superteams usually go, all of their players are proven vetrans. All of these players played under the OND banner in Season One of Team League, to a first and second finish across two teams. Each is also an ETS regular – heck, they’ve got nearly double the games of anyone else. One of the favorites to run it back and reclaim their title, look for OND to soar.

Unusual among Eternal teams, Resurgence actually has a larger presence in other games, including League of Legends, where it maintains several teams. Team Owner and Team Captain Levastra leads the team as always, with a few ETS irregulars joining him. Their ETS record hasn’t been anything special thus far – look for them to make a Resurgence in team league.

Now this is a lineup that can give OND a run for its money on pure numbers. Three Worlds players, three Worlds Top 8s, including the World Champion camat0. All three were members of the unsuccessful Season One team Team Titans, and they’ve added Youtube deckbuilder ManuS to help them claim their rightful throne. On reputation, they look like a sure thing – but they’ll have to be careful not to Phone it in this season.

As with the other EBR team, most of the members of Amarelo are not well known. However, three of them have made their ETS debuts, and while the overall results were not inspiring, they’re coming back for more. Tight-knit and highly motivated, look for this team show what its made of and also hopefully have a better joke for Amarelo than I do.

Every member of EWC returns, with four on Fire and two on sister team Justice. Their individual ETS results are respectable and last season they ran to a respectable 3rd place. However, respectable is far from how team captain Darkness and co. want to be treated – they’re here to win! Win or lose, look for them to start a Fire – or at least blow a lot of smoke.

My previous depictions of this team were not particularly flattering, so I will give them a fairer introduction here. SPG’s Bradykin recruited a number of RNGEternal members to build a fun team for hanging out, and they can be safely assumed to play accordingly. Expect plenty of laughs and interesting decks out of this team, but they can only win in Magicial Christmas Land.

Another teams of total unknowns, a small roster makes sense when you have players as opinionated as camat0, ManuS, and Sarius, but it could serve as a disadvantage here. The four of them will have to work together to overcome their foes – but that’s team league in a nutshell.

While not the most serious of names, I hope this team comes ready to play. With only four members, fatigue could set in early, and there’s heavy pressure on their one ETS player. Still, if they can overcome these hurdles, they’ll be laughing all the way home.

Last in both registration order and introduction, we have the Eternal Troll. Not trolls, just Troll. No surprise, given their array of difficult to pronounce player names. Little is known about this team, but from their name we expect big things – laughs, if nothing else.
